Feedback — Member Guide
What is the Feedback System?
The feedback system is your voice in shaping the community. You can submit ideas, ask questions, report problems, or simply let us know what you appreciate. Other members can vote on submissions to help surface the most important topics.
Types of Feedback
| Type | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Suggestion | You have an idea for a new feature, improvement, or change. |
| Question | You need help understanding something or need guidance. |
| Issue | Something is not working correctly or you found a bug. Issue: it worked but wrongly. Report an error: it broke, and you saw an error page. |
| Praise | Something is working well and you want to acknowledge it. |
| Concern | A private or sensitive matter. Concerns are always private — only administrators can see them. They never appear on the public suggestion board. |
"Issue" or "Report an error"? Both exist and both are right for something, so here is the rule: Issue: it worked but wrongly. Report an error: it broke, and you saw an error page. A button that saved the wrong thing is an Issue. A page that fell over and showed you a wall of red is a report-an-error, and that form brings the technical details along so you do not have to describe them. If you are still unsure, pick either — we would much rather have the report in the wrong box than not at all.
How to Submit Feedback
There are two ways to submit feedback:
1. The Feedback Widget (Quick Method)
Look for the green speech-bubble button in the bottom-right corner of every page. Click it to open a quick feedback popup where you can:
- Choose a type (Suggestion, Question, Issue, or Praise).
- Enter a brief title.
- Optionally add details.
- Click Submit.
The widget automatically records which page you were on when you submitted, giving administrators useful context.
2. The Full Feedback Form
Visit Submit Feedback for the full form, which also lets you:
- Select the area your feedback relates to (the site in general, a specific piece of content, a guild, a workflow, or a blueprint).
- Submit a Concern (private feedback not available via the widget).
- Write longer, more detailed descriptions.
The Suggestion Board
Visit the Suggestion Board to see what the community is talking about. You can:
- Browse all public feedback.
- Filter by type — click Suggestions, Questions, Issues, or Praise at the top.
- Sort by most voted or newest.
- Click any item to see its full details.
Voting
Each feedback item has an upvote button. Voting helps administrators understand which items matter most to the community.
- Click the Upvote button on any feedback detail page to cast your vote.
- Click again to remove your vote (voting is a toggle).
- You can vote on as many items as you like.
- Vote counts are displayed on the suggestion board and detail pages.
What Happens After You Submit
Your report always shows exactly one of six words. These are all of them, in the order they usually appear:
- Received — we have it. Nobody has looked at it yet. It is on your My feedback page straight away.
- Being looked at — someone is reading it and working out what happens next.
- Being worked on — a fix is being written, or is waiting to be approved.
- Ready for you to check — we think it is sorted. Tell us whether it is. This is the only one of the six that waits on you; the rest are us.
- Done — this one is finished. The reply explains what happened.
- Follow-up opened — a new report carries this on, linked to the original.
If somebody decides not to act on your report as written, it stays Being looked at until a person has written you an answer. That is not a rejection and it is not the end — there is no silent "no" in this system.
You get the last word. When something is marked fixed we ask you directly. Choose Yes, sorted and it closes; choose Not quite and it reopens as a follow-up carrying what you wrote — you never have to start again from scratch.
There is no "rejected" ending in this system. The nearest thing is closed with a reply, and a person has to write that reply.
Your own reports are on My feedback. To see where everything stands, including reports that are not yours, there is the feedback pipeline — it shows more or less depending on what your account is trusted with, and it tells you plainly when it cannot confirm something rather than guessing.
Rate Limits
To prevent spam, each member can submit up to 5 feedback items per hour. If you hit this limit, wait a short while before submitting again.
Privacy
- What you submit is private by default. It goes to the people who triage feedback, and it appears in your own My Feedback list. It is not published anywhere.
- Concerns are always private, whatever else is set, and are visible only to administrators.
- The suggestion board shows only items that were deliberately marked public. There is currently no control on this form to mark one public, so nothing you submit here is published.
- Your name is never published. The suggestion board and the public detail pages carry no author. People who triage feedback can see who submitted an item, because they have to be able to reply to you.
